Someone to clean my house!

I'm thinking about getting a cleaning person to come clean our house every other week. I have really struggled with this in the past because I hate to pay someone to do something that I am pretty good at myself. It just hit me today when I was leaving work that I am tired, really tired, and the last thing I want to do is go and clean my house. I can keep up with dishes and laundry, but it's the real cleaning that is the issue. I've worked on keeping it simple, like rotating floors and bathrooms everyother week but it's just not working. As crazy as our schedules are at this stage I would just perfer someone else come clean for me. Even though I'm a good cleaner, I'm just tired and would rather spend my time at home enjoying Kate and Josh. Has anyone else ever felt guilty over hiring a cleaning lady? Is that normal?

I did for about 2 minutes...then the cleaning crew arrived and it was too late to turn back. I only have then clean the kitchen and bath rooms (I can clean the carpet and wood floors, plus dust when I have time...HA!). This has saved me time and sanity.

Now, I did feel bad at first...stay at home mom has someone cleaning her house. At the time I was 7 months pregnant, had a 3 year old and a 17 month old. 3 months later with a 3 1/2 year old, 20 month old and a 4 week old, I do not feel so bad. I look forward to writing that check every other Friday morning!

I have a friend that works part time and said she feels on her days off all she does is clean, run errans, and do laundry. She feels she does not get all the time with her kids she would like...with that said, if you can take one thing off your plate, GO FOR IT!

Oh, Kerri! You should definitely do it. Don't feel guilty. We pay movers to move our furniture, why not pay someone to do the work that's keeping you from having extra play time with the family?

Just make sure they are bonded and you're good to go :)

I don't use blogger because I wanted to keep some privacy. ;) Can't wait to see you in June! You ARE going, right?

Your daughter is a gorgeous...just as we always expected she would be :)

Girl, get a cleaning lady! It is the best thing I ever did. Worth every penny. Plus, you can't put a price on spending more time with your family!

I got a cleaning lady a few months ago after struggling with all the same things you wrote about. I LOVE her. She comes once a month and I no longer have to feel guilty about playing or doing something I want to do with my family because the bathrooms are clean. I have had to relax my standards some as I think some things could be cleaned better, but the bathrooms and kitchen look great and I LOATHE cleaning both areas, so I am happy. Do it!!

I would totally go for it. It's so hard to find the time to actually clean. I feel like I can barely keep things picked up. I can't justify paying it with no income, but I definately would if I worked even part time. Plus, it's so much nicer having the whole house clean and feeling that it's done, rather than one thing at a time and never having it completely done. That's what I hate about laundry, as soon as you finish it's time to start again!

Don't feel bad!! It's the one thing I life that I absolutely adore (besides pedicures from a spa). I feel like my self-esteem goes through the roof when the cleaning lady comes. I feel so good about my house, my family and my life! I say 2 exuberant thumbs up!
