The Valentines Great Escape...

Josh and I decided to try out a new restaurant in celebrations of Valentines...that's never a good idea! We made a reservation at this "diner looking" place that is near downtown Rockwall. We picked it because it looked casual and cheap...2 good things for us! We thought it was cute that they had run an ad in the Rockwall magazine about "making reservations" so we called ahead and booked a spot! We arrived about 10 minutes early and made our way inside. Needless to say it was VERY FORMAL and we are VERY underdressed! This place looks just average from the outside, but is extremely classy on the inside. They showed us to our table and brought us the menu, which showed each part of the pre-planned 5 course meal. At the bottom it said $40 per plate...that's right...2 Jeffersons...PER PLATE!!! That doesn't even include drink, tip, ect. So just to recap, this place is neither casual or cheap, and we were now trying to decide what excuse we could give the waiter so that we could leave. We finally decided on making something up about Kate and quickly made our way to the nearest exit! We ended up at a little Italian restaurant just down the road (that we have been to in the past), and it ended up being a lot of fun! Our total bill with wine and tip was only $28.00!! So there's a valentines that will go down in history for us!
